Lantex News Update

Hello from everyone at Lantex.

Sorry we have not posted for a few weeks, but we have been so busy, so it’s been all hands to the pump. Here is a summary of new developments over the last few weeks.

We are very privileged to have loyal customers who return year after year and spring is always such a busy period for us and this years the orders have been much larger than in previous years.

We have just completed repeat orders for Chelsea Flower Show, Royal Ascot, Glastonbury, Download, Isle of white festival plus all our usual customers have been stocking up in anticipation of a bumper summer season.

Apprenticeships

We set up our apprenticeship program in the Autumn of 2021 and we are delighted to announce that Imogen our sewing machinist apprentice has recently just completed her apprenticeship and passed with distinction, well done Imogen from all your colleagues at Lantex. We currently have four apprentices serving their apprenticeships in sewing and fabric cutting. We have a very highly skilled existing workforce, and it is so rewarding to see these skills being passed onto the next generation. We have excellent working relationships with https://www.nltg.co.uk/ and https://blackburn.ac.uk/ . We hope to continue to run these programs going froward.

Button Hole Machine

We have recently taken purchase of a buttonhole machine. This allows us to manufacture one off special commission that require button holes. Our first orders have been buttonholes on apron straps, cushion backs and peg bags. If you are interested in this new service please drop us a line or give us a call.

Heavy Duty Bias Binding Machine

Lantex has always been able to manufacture self-ties for all our products, but this new bit of kit gives it so many more options. Many more UK companies are now looking for made in the UK products and this does now allow us to offer our customers so many different options on bag handles and apron straps.

ERP System

Enterprise resource planning is the full title. This is probably one of the biggest undertaking Lantex has taken in its 105-year history and in doing so future proofing it for the next 100 years! We started this journey over 2 years ago working with Edge Hill University trying to use their team of skilled academics and skilled ex business leaders  to identify how to help SME move their businesses forward embracing new technology. This has now been built and is in testing mode and will allow Lantex to improve all its working practices. From a customer perspective you will be able to place orders online, have a live feed on current stock and have constant updates on the status of your orders. On the internal side we will have live update on stock, production data and workflow management plus a bill of materials on all orders. It’s a bespoke system so it will hopefully grow with us as we work with it over the coming years.

So as you can see plenty is going on and we have recently had some new recruitment which will hopefully allow us to post more often to keep all our customers updated on all developments at Lantex.

If you are interested in any of our services please drop us a line at info@lantex.co.uk or give us a call on 01254 398 017 we love to speak to our customers and introduce ourselves to new customers.
